Obviously there is nothing politically incorrect about the word 'nephew'. Unless perhaps it has some other usage*, such as did 'niece', which was once a common euphemism for a young female companion with whom one might share a hotel room.

I drew this illustration for nephew no.2 (of six) to celebrate his dedicated work for the UK cable industry. Male plug, female plug. Umm.

Next thing you know, his elder brother wants one too - see Marketing.

*Well would you believe it - I did a search (having suspicions, I linked 'nephew' and 'catamite') and found the following definition in a specialist dictionary:
nephew n. North American usage. A young male, especially one who is passive in anal intercourse or performs fellatio. This is especially used for a young man sought by an older male (aunt).
